I use Zoom for Healthcare for all virtual sessions. You will receive an email with your meeting link 24 hours before your appointment. If you do not receive the meeting invitation, please contact me as soon as possible so we can make sure you’re set up for your session.

To help you get the most out of your virtual therapy experience, here are some practical tips and ideas to create a safe, comfortable, and focused space:

1. Ensure a stable internet connection
A reliable Wi-Fi or wired connection can help prevent interruptions during your session. Consider positioning yourself near your router or using a device with a strong signal.

2. Create a private, distraction-free space
Choose a room or corner where you feel comfortable and won’t be interrupted. Let family or housemates know your session time so you can have privacy.

3. Set the scene for yourself
Approach your virtual session with intention by creating a calm, comfortable environment:

  • Soft lighting or a candle

  • A familiar, soothing scent

  • A supportive chair or cushion

  • Tissues close by

4. Personal comfort items
Having meaningful items nearby can help you feel grounded and resourced Examples include:

  • Pictures of loved ones or pets

  • A favorite blanket

  • A small object that gives you comfort or is symbolic for you

5. Minimize digital distractions
Close unnecessary apps, silence notifications, and keep your phone out of reach if possible. This helps you stay focused on the session.

6. Use headphones for privacy and clarity
Headphones reduce background noise and make it easier for you to hear and engage fully.

7. Prepare your mind and body
Take a few minutes before your session to check-in with your mind and body. This small ritual signals your brain that it’s time for self-care and reflection.

8. Keep a notebook or journal nearby
Use a notebook to jot down insights, takeaways, or reflections during and after your session. This helps you remember key points and track your progress over time.

9. Have water or a light snack nearby
Staying hydrated or having a small snack can help you stay comfortable.

10. Adjust lighting and camera angle
Natural light works beautifully, though a soft lamp is just as effective. Place your camera at eye level so you feel fully “seen.” This helps us create a supportive container for presence, connection, and meaningful therapeutic work
