Grief Therapy
"Grief is praise, because it is the natural way love honors what it misses." - Martín Prechtel
My work in grief therapy comes from a place of lived experience and personal understanding. After losing my mother in 2016, I entered into a deep and ongoing relationship with grief—one that continues to shape how I support others. This journey has shown me firsthand how complex, unpredictable, and profoundly human grief can be, and it informs the heart of my clinical approach.
I created my practice to walk alongside individuals as they navigate the emotional terrain that follows the loss of someone deeply loved. Grief is not linear—it comes in waves, often circling back when we least expect it—and it can bring up unresolved hurts or complicated feelings about the relationship we had with the person who has passed. Together, we can gently unpack these layers, bringing awareness and compassion to each emotion as it arises.
In our work together, I offer a safe, supportive space where all responses to grief are acknowledged and honored—whether it’s sadness, anger, guilt, confusion, or the coping behaviors that sometimes accompany loss. Healing is not about rushing or “moving on”; it’s about expanding emotional capacity, integrating grief into your life, and finding ways to reconnect with what feels meaningful and alive. Over time, therapy can also create room to explore moments of gratitude, discover renewed purpose, and deepen your connection to life and to yourself.
My intention is to walk this path with you, with patience, empathy, and genuine care, supporting you as you find your own rhythm through grief and toward a sense of renewed connection and meaning.
